If you were born on or after December 31st, 1972,
you will have to provide the Iowa DNR with a copy of your valid Hunter Safety Certification prior to applying.

PREFERENCE POINTS
THESE ARE ONLY OBTAINABLE ONCE A YEAR, DURING THE TAG APPLICATION WINDOW VIA THE IOWA DNR, AND THEY NEVER EXPIRE NOR ARE THEY RESTRICTIVE OF A SEASON OR ZONE. UPON SUCCESSFULLY DRAWING A TAG, YOUR POINT BALANCE WILL BE REDUCED TO ZERO. UPON UNSUCCESSFULLY DRAWING A TAG, YOU ARE AWARDED ANOTHER PREFERENCE POINT.
